Man flees CHP by foot in Pismo Beach

A Grover Beach man jumped out of his car and ran across Highway 101 in Pismo Beach Tuesday after a California Highway Patrol officer attempted to pull him over. [KCOY]
CHP tried stopping the vehicle of 28-year-old Dustin Palmer of Grover Beach for swerving on the highway in Pismo. But, when Palmer stopped near the Jack in the Box at Five Cities Drive, he fled CHP on the highway by foot.
Officers located Palmer 30 minutes later and arrested him. Upon searching his white Ford Taurus, they found a gun and methamphetamine powder.
Palmer received several felony charges, in addition to a felon in possession of a concealed firearm charge. Officers booked Palmer in San Luis Obispo County Jail on $75,000 bail around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday evening.
