Driver falls asleep, slams into traffic control truck in San Luis Obispo

A driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the back of a traffic control truck in San Luis Obispo on Monday.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the driver of a silver pickup truck rear ended a Traffic Management Inc. truck at the intersection of Los Osos Valley Road and Froom Ranch Way. The driver of the silver truck fell asleep at the wheel, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

There were no reports of major injuries as a result of the collision. DUI is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

Following the collision, traffic backed up in the area.
