Santa Maria man arrested for murder

Santa Maria police have arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed a person at an apartment complex early Monday morning. [KSBY]
The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. in the parking lot of La Vista Apartments near the corner of Western Avenue and Knudsen Way. The location is just one block away from the site of a fatal shooting that occurred less than four months ago, also just before 6 a.m.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Monday, officers arrested 27-year-old Santa Maria resident Wilfredo Rodriguez Chicas. Police charged Chicas with murder.
Investigators have not yet determined the motive of the killing, but they are not seeking any other suspects. Police have not identified the victim yet, either.
Officers booked Chicas in Santa Barbara County Jail. His bail is set at $1 million.
