Paso Robles police are searching for a man who reportedly used a small kitchen knife during an attempt to rob a 13-year-old boy. The incident allegedly occurred while the teen was walking to school Wednesday morning, and the boy escaped unharmed.
At approximately 8 a.m., the 13-year-old was walking in the area of the Melody Drive and Sylvia Circle on his way to Daniel Lewis Middle School. A man then jumped out at him with a small kitchen knife and demanded his backpack and sweatshirt, the teen told police.
The teen was scared and ran away, according to a Paso Robles Police Department press release. When the boy arrived at school, he reported the incident to campus authorities who contacted the police.
