Fire burning near Shandon scorches over 2,000 acres

A fast moving fire burning near Shandon scorched over 2,000 acres in San Luis Obispo and Kern counties on Saturday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.
Shortly after 4 p.m., a caller reported the fire burning near the Cholame Y – the intersection of Highway 46 and Highway 41. The fire rapidly spread scorching 2,091 acres after spreading into Kern County.
Firefighters report zero containment of the Antelope Fire
Officials temporarily closed and then reopened a portion of Highway 46, according to the CHP. A portion of northbound Highway 41 is currently closed.
