Three arrested at DUI checkpoint in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo police officers arrested three people for DUI and cited one drivers for operating a vehicle without a license or a revoked/suspended license over the weekend, according to police.
On Friday night, 418 cars were contacted at a DUI checkpoint on the 900 block of Marsh Street. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety through education and by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
