Coroner identifies Grover Beach man killed in head-on crash

The San Luis Obispo County coroner’s office has identified 55-year-old Grover Beach resident Cezar Roy as the man killed after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another car on the Cuesta Grade last week.
Under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs on the night of Aug. 26, David Worthington Ross was driving a white GMC Canyon truck the wrong way, heading southbound on northbound Highway 101, when he crashed head-on into a pregnant Atascadero woman’s black Dodge Charger. Three other vehicles also crashed into both the truck and the Charger.
The crash killed the Atascadero woman’s unborn baby.
Paramedics pronounced Roy dead at the scene. Roy was the passenger in the pregnant woman’s Charger.
Responders transported Ross and the Atascadero woman to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. They were both suffering from major injuries.
Due to a previous DUI conviction, Ross could face a second-degree murder charge.
