Cuesta names interim president

December 10, 2009

The Cuesta College Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Gil Stork to serve as interim Superintendent/President. Stork will assume his new duties on January 1, 2010 and serve for 12 months, or until a new president can be found.

Stork joined Cuesta as a faculty member in 1967 as a math teacher. A graduate of Cal Poly, Stork has served Cuesta in a variety of administrative positions. He was twice passed over for the presidency of Cuesta by previous boards in 1989, and again in 2000.

Gil Stork was indeed passed over twice for the presidency by previous boards. I believe that is much more of a reflection on the boards than on Mr. Stork. Just watch how he does in the next few months. I think he’ll do an admirable job under very bad circumstances.
