Porn producers finding chilly receptions

March 28, 2013

BibiDon’t look for an official sanction of smut in the Southern California city of Camarillo during the next few weeks — its council this week passed a 45-day moratorium on all pornography to battle an anticipated influx of adult-oriented business from nearby San Fernando Valley. It’s a concern shared by authorities in numerous communities in the neighborhood.

Following a requirement endorsed by Los Angeles’ city council that condoms must be utilized during porn production, producers began looking at neighboring communities for hosting businesses.

Camarillo city officials noted what was termed “unusual activity” in the permit process as more and more porn professionals sought refuge; the city’s ban includes all event and conditional use permits.

Camarillo Assistant City Attorney Don Davis said an emergency ordinance was appropriate because permits have recently been sought for establishment of an adult film studio, as well as other “short-term” filming projects.

I just don’t understand why Fxxking in public is illegal while our government Fxxking the public isn’t…

What do they mean by event permits? And short term filming projects? They don’t rent motel rooms or film in people’s homes anymore?

Camarillo should rethink this. An adult film studio would create a whole lot of jobs. Making a XXX film requires, lighting techs, camermen, sound guys, editors, producers, etc… it’s not just actors having sex.

Such a studio wouldn’t be open to the public nor allow juveniles hanging around. Look at the two adult bookstores in this county — Atascadero and Grover. I can’t recall hearning about any problems with juveniles or perverts from those, and they are storefronts.

Porn actors are not evil, nor are they dangerous. They’re professionals and have standards within their industry, like regular STD and Aids testing, and most use condoms anyway.

If there were a studio established, I’d bet it would be tucked away in the back of some industrial complex, no signs, very low key. Most poeple would probably not even know it was there.

This is a typical over reaction by holier than thou people. As if stopping a film industry from coming into your town would protect anyone. They should worry about drugs and booze, if they want to protect their children.

People can’t really protect their children so they focus on something they BELIEVE to be evil or wrong and meanwhile, their city goes to hell in a handbasket all around them. It’s a way to deal with the inability to actually regulate behavior. Create an enemy and fight a battle, as the real devils — pushers and pimps, go about their business in the shadows corrupting your kids and pulling your community down.

That said, Camarillo should have something on the books that regulates these businesses, studios whatever you want to call them. And knowing the way people think, it’ll be an outright ban.

There’s not too much activity in the local “Adult Entertainment” field here in SLO County, but there has been quite a lot of prostitution going on. The highest paid prostitutes in SLO County carry the job descritions of “Legislative Assistant,” and “Homeless Services Coodinator.”

…Former Police Cheifs

Utilized is a big word.

Poor guys are getting ”stiffed” everywhere.

Who need an adult film studio here? Our local public officials, both past and present, provide(d) us with plenty of “adult” entertainment.

Too bad we can’t turn our “community adult entertainment off” like we can the porno. If we could just vote them out of office that would be great but then we have all the appointed ones to deal with.

Happy Easter to all.
