Record breaking heat wave continues

PHOENIX HEATForecasters are calling for more high digit temperatures today as the heat wave that broke records in San Luis Obispo County on Saturday continues.

On Saturday, temperatures in Paso Robles shot up to 111 degrees, two degrees over the previous record. San Luis Obispo reached 102 degrees trouncing the former record for June 29 of 90 degrees.

A large upper-level ridge of high pressure responsible for the heat wave is expected to persist through the middle of the week. Temperatures are expected to increase today and then start a downward trend.

Sunday high temperature forecasts:

Arroyo Grande – 83 degrees

Atascadero – 103 degrees

Cambria – 81 degrees

Grover Beach – 83 degrees

Los Osos – 80 degrees

Morro Bay – 80 degrees

Nipomo – 85 degrees

Paso Robles – 114 degrees

Pismo Beach – 83 degrees

San Luis Obispo – 96 degrees

I felt every degree of that heat, too. Dang no AC in my house. Normally, I close it all up shortly after morning, but even still, it was about 100 inside, as well, near the afternoon. We need that cool, natural AC to come flowing in through the windows.


I always say, if the treetops aren’t moving, it’s going to be a miserable day in SLO.


True…but though it was miserable in SLO, it’s been downright hellish in Paso!


Today was like Heaven. I floated around all day in the pool. Guess I will do that again tomorrow.

and every day of the summer. Retirement is not that bad. Shoulld have done this years ago. Come on bring on the heat!
