A school bus driver and part time custodian for the Lucia Mar Unified School District was charged Thursday with sexual abuse of a child under 14 years of age.

A victim, who recently came forward, told San Luis Obispo County Sheriff investigators that Daniel Lewis Zaldivar, 28, of Oceano abused her over four years beginning in 2004 and then again in 2010. The victim is not a student of the district, officials said.

Deputies booked Zaldivar into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd acts with a child under 14, oral copulation by force and sexual penetration with force. His bail has been set at $100,000.

Sheriff’s investigators are seeking information about other possible victims. If anyone has information regarding this case, they should call 781-4550 or contact Detective Clint Cole at 781-4913.
