The Atascadero and Paso Robles police departments combined efforts over the weekend to seize more than 100 grams of heroin and arrests five suspects accused of participating in drug sales.
The two departments collaborated on a drug investigation that spanned the last two months and concluded Saturday night. Saturday’s arrests included the alleged leader of the ring, 26-year-old Paso Robles resident Gabriel Pazrea.
Around 5 p.m., police asked the CHP to stop a vehicle Pazrea was driving on Highway 46 in the Cholame area. A CHP officer and investigators found Pazrea and his two passengers to be in possession of heroin and methamphetamine.
Atascadero police arrested all three of the suspects in the car on drug related charges. Officers charged Pazrea with possession of a dangerous drug for sale, criminal conspiracy and committing a felony while out on bail.
Meanwhile, Paso Robles police searched Pazrea’s home and adjacent out buildings. They seized 115 grams of heroin, 20 grams of cocaine and 1 gram of methamphetamine. The heroin had a street value of $15,000 and the cocaine was worth about $1,560.
Investigators also seized $4,450 in cash that came from drug sales.
Paso Robles police additionally arrested two visitors they located at Pazrea’s home. The two suspects received charges of possession of heroin for sale.
