Nipomo man killed in crash with big-rig

CHP@A 21-year-old Nipomo man is dead after he crashed into a big-rig on Highway 166 near New Cuyama on Saturday.

Shortly before 6 a.m., the Kia Rio the man was driving westbound drifted into the path of the eastbound big-rig. The driver of the semi-truck, a 33-year-old Michigan woman, attempted to avoid crashing into the Kia, but the Kia slammed into the left side of her truck.

The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol believe the Nipomo man was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Shezzz… seatbelts have been standard in every car sold in America since 1968 and some people still don’t use them.
