7 injured in Highway 154 collision

February 22, 2015

ambulanceSeven people were injured in a two vehicle head-on collision Saturday night on Highway 154 in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Shortly before 10 p.m., a driver in a Cadillac CTS was headed eastbound at about 65 mph when it swerved into the path of a 15-passenger GMC van. The driver of the van, 21-year-old Blue Dascomb, braked and swerved to the right but was unable to avoid crashing into the Cadillac.

The van overturned and went off the highway while the Cadillac landed in the westbound lane stopping traffic for about two hours.

Of the 13 people in the vehicles, seven were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Of those one had serious injuries, five received moderate injuries and one had minor injuries.

Why transport all seven to one hospital? I’m wondering if it’d made more sense to send some to Santa Maria or another in SB.

Nice driving, Mr. Cadillac. Idiot.
