Man snatches girl off street in San Miguel

A 26-year-old Stockton man named Tony Laow Her allegedly grabbed an 18-year-old woman off the street in San Miguel on Wednesday and began carrying the victim toward an alley. Her attempted to kidnap the the teen after failing to lure her to his motel room, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 11:45 a.m. the teen was walking on 13th Street toward the bus stop on Mission Street when Her approached the teen.

Her used both arms to pick the teen up. As he carried the teen toward a nearby alley, she began kicking her feet.

Her then put the teen down and ran away. The teen called her mother, who then called 911.

Deputies responded to the motel, located Her and arrested him without incident. Her is charged with kidnapping and kidnapping with the intent to commit rape.

He remains in San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $100,000.

Good for this young woman, she saved herself from a monster.


Agreed. Shove your thumbs into their eyes. Mercilessly kick and punch their tenders. They will not stop and neither should you.


Many places can be considered “seedy,” but this guy wasn’t from San Miguel. He was from Stockton. Kudos for the Sherriff for getting him, and hopefully the young lady he assaulted will be ok.


Given the seedy history of San Miguel, perhaps it’s time for a little gentrification….bulldoze the place!
