Vehicle fire on the Cuesta Grade, 40 acres burned

A vehicle fire on Highway 101 north of San Luis Obispo ignited a fast moving fire on the Cuesta Grade on Wednesday.
Shortly before 2 p.m., a caller reported a Tesla burning on northbound Highway 101 near Stagecoach Road, according to the CHP. The driver was out of the vehicle.
Dubbed the Cuesta Fire, the blaze has scorched 40 acres with no containment.
There is an evacuation order for the east side of Highway 101 from north of San Luis Obispo to just south of Santa Margarita.
