Police arrested a Grover Beach man Sunday for stealing a Toyota sedan that was taken from Atascadero. Grover Beach officers located the car after a resident reported a suspicious vehicle that was parked in front of his home.

At 6:33 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of 10th Street and surveilled the location.

Police later spotted Andrew Gardner, 28, as he walking away from the car.

Officers arrested Gardner and booked him into the San Luis Obispo County Jail, where he remains with his bail set at $20,000.

He wasn’t stealing, he was helping the owner get rid of that…, dare I call it a vehicle?

Ditto rOy. I can imagine the owner’s disappointment when notified by police that the car had been recovered

He is NOT a thief, he is MENTALLY DERANGED. No one in their right mind would steal that car. Hell, if the owner tossed me the keys, I’d sue for aggravated assault.

The dude’s bail is probably 10 times the value of POS he stole.

More like 100 times… sheesh… unless it was one of those $500 cars with $5,000 in audio equipment… and glasspacks (always have to have glasspacks, or else one is not so cool in a $500 ride).

Poor man’s Uber.

Someone stole that car? What a POS!

No way! That’s a classic!

Why do we allow thieves, murders & etc. to live among us?

They should all be transported to the Phantom Zone.
