A 27-year-old Los Osos man was allegedly swapping naked photos with a pair of 10-year-old girls in Minnesota. After authorities caught onto the act, they determined the man was a manufacturer of child pornography who had sexually assaulted a local 16-year-old girl, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

Ian Trent Shaw Anderson, 27, allegedly sent child pornography back to the girls in Minnesota in exchange for the girls sending him naked photos of themselves. A law enforcement agency in Minnesota then alerted SLO County authorities to the scheme.

During the ensuing investigation, detectives determined Anderson had assaulted a 16-year-old girl in SLO County. Investigators believe he used the girl to create child pornography intended for distribution.

On Thursday, detectives with the sheriff’s Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) team served a warrant at Anderson’s home in the 1900 block of 11th Street in Los Osos. Detectives seized three cellphones, a tablet and three laptops.

One cellphone alone contained hundreds of commercial and homemade images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators are forensically analyzing the other devices, looking for child pornography.

Detectives arrested Anderson for possession, distribution and manufacturing of child pornography. It is unclear if he is facing sexual assault charges. The sheriff’s office website states Anderson has one undisclosed charged.

Anderson is listed as being 6 foot 4 inches tall and 240 pounds. He remains in custody with his bail set at $50,000.

Investigators request that anyone who has information about the case call the sheriff’s detective division at 805-781-4500.

Protecting children should be the number one priority of any civilized society!!!

That being said, we live in a new world, and children needed to be protected from it:(

What are the consequences for the young girls, they immediately became victims:(

Our children have become so sexualized, by music, movies and celebrity sex tapes!!!

Even 10 yo girls know that sending naked pictures of themselves is wrong, and I’m sure that the 16 yo girl knew that making a home made porn video was wrong too!!!

If the 10 yo girls had only been sending Pic’s to other 10 yo children at their school and were found out, they would of been in serious trouble, there would of been consequences for there actions, same for the 16 yo, if a group of high school kids got caught making a porn video, they would of all gotten in trouble!!!

These kids just seem to be emulating what they see and hear around them:(

Sad that we have created such a target rich environment for this Pedophile and so many more:(

This behavior needs to be dealt with from both ends:(

Exactly! And now not only do we have a president-elect who supports and promotes Teen Miss USA, which sexualizes children, our president-elect has even admitted to walking into the changing rooms of Teen Miss USA contestants to catch a perverted peep of them naked. I hope the fact that someone who exhibits such behavior will be running country doesn’t embolden more creeps like Ian Anderson to do similar things.

A chilling reminder that there are “Ian Andersons” all around us. They can be our next-door neighbor, colleague, fellow student. We all need to heighten our level of alertness and not hesitate to immediately notify law enforcement of suspicious activity that doesn’t seem normal or healthy.

Why would anyone give this a negative?

Those seven are no doubt some of the left over septic tank sewer roaches that make up this perverts posse.

While I wish I could disagree you’re right, Mariposa. Often time people who commit such disgusting, heinous and unforgivable acts show signs before hand. We don’t need to go crazy but we need to be smart and proactive. Parents need to do everything they can to limit the opportunities where predators can strike and things like this can happen.

Don’t forget that even law-enforcement officers (like the CHP officer that just plead guilty to 17 counts of child sex abuse), women, clergy, pretty much ANYONE can be a predator. Be suspicious of everyone and don’t let your guard down for a second.

paragon, you are EXACTLY right. It’s usually the person/people we least expect. Never think that “he/she would never do that” because the offender is usually it’s someone the child trusts. Just because someone is in a position of power doesn’t mean they don’t have this sickness inside them to enjoy such a disgusting thing.
