Police officers don’t even concern themselves one tiny bit with being credible to the people they serve. The uniform alone is enough for the vast majority of law abiding citizens to believe and trust an LEO explicitly. This blind trust makes their job easier at times but credibility has little to no effect on their behavior. The fact that you ,or anyone for that matter , is questioning their credibility has absolutely no bearing on their behavior because what, after all, are you going to do about it? Absolutely nothing because neither you or anyone else has any say so in what they choose to do. They do what they want, when they want and how often they want despite what you or anyone else may see as appropriate or acceptable. When the police are policed by themselves why should they be concerned with your opinion, my opinion or anyone’s opinion for that matter? And why not maintain a double standard within the brotherhood? Who is gonna stop em?! Might as well get used to it cause it ain’t gonna change! Law Enforcement is far from perfect but the world would be much further from perfect without them. They are a necessary evil.
