Pismo Beach candidate says she did not know she owed money

Regarding a recent opinion piece about me, my husband and I were unaware until this week that the author had not received payment.
To be clear, we never refused to pay. We believed in good faith that the payment had been made. Once we became aware that an error occurred, we corrected it, and payment in full has been delivered to his lawyer.
I believe that how we respond when problems arise matters. In this case, when we learned of the issue, we took steps to resolve it. I intend to bring this same constructive approach to my work as a member of the Pismo Beach City Council.
