More than 2,000 people rallied against Trump in SLO County

More than 2,000 San Luis Obispo County residents opposed to President Donald Trump and immigration enforcement attended a No Kings rally in San Luis Obispo on Saturday, one of four protests in SLO County on Saturday.

In the rally promoted by the SLO County Democratic Party and Indivisible Action ā€“ a political action commitee, speakers accused the Trump administration of attempting to isolate people and tear families apart. A representative of the League of Woman Voters announced they are strong supporters of No Kings protests and fighting against the Trump administration.

Speakers asked attendees to work together against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while providing instructions on how to blow whistles to inform undocumented immigrants ICE is nearby.

Their were multiple booths promoting groups and causes, including the League of Woman Voters, Jim Dantona for Supervisor, Central Coast Coalition for Inclusive Schools and Mothers for Peace.

The group then marched from the courthouse to Mission Plaza while chanting, “Say it loud and say it clear ā€“ Ice is not welcome here. ICE out of 805 ā€“ ICE out of everywhere.”

Some protesters wore costumes, including a crab, a dolphin,a rabbit, a bunny and from the colonial days.

Looks like 2000 insane asylum patients escaped and grouped up downtown for this protest.

These protest don’t represent the majority of us SLO county residents or there would be a much larger turn out, not 4% or even much lower!!! These people just need something to do with their pathetic lives and need something to feel like they belong to. What will they do with themselves after Trump’s term ends? Hopefully jump off the overpasses they’ve been protesting on!!!!

Why do you think people you disagree with politically should jump off a bridge? Freedom of speech works both ways not just when you agree with it. I don’t agree with why their protesting but their exercising their constitutional right peacefully which I atleast can respect unlike you.

Minimize all you want, this happened thousands of times across the USA. Trump knows this doesn’t bode well for him, especially after all the noise being made about the use of the 25th amendment.

My guess is he wont be around too long…

Your guess? Well, its just a guess, right? but reality? 83% Plus agree with what our President is doing! And 83% in a democratic society calls it! So, you can call him all the names you want, (Because we are a democratic society despite your protests) it does not make it true. Nor does will it change what 83% of our voting population see as truth. Have you ever thought, that if 83% see it a differently, maybe you are the one not seeing it correctly? Yep, if it was 2000 people out of our total county population, that is .007% of slo county residents. YES, NOT EVEN 1%!!!!


If it was 2000 people from the city of SLO, and only from the city of SLO, well that’s a whopping 4% of the city of SLO. A meager, embarrassing, pathetic 4%!!!!!

Wow, what a turnout! Less than 1% of our county population. These are the same people who don’t know the difference between a man & a woman; but they do know the difference between a king & a president.

Do you ever offer anything more than slogans or cliches? I do notice you have quoted Ronald Reagan a few times, but you must realize that Reagan would be aghast at the behavior of Trump, including the use of tariffs, the violent treatment of immigrants, his astonishing, unabashed corruption as well as the manā€™s utter lack of class. That Trump has a large painting of our esteemed 40th president hanging in his gilded oval office must have Reagan tossing in his grave.
