Parolee arrested for DUI after crash in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo police officers arrested a parolee for DUI following a crash on Friday morning.

Shortly before 9 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision near 56 Prado Road. They determined a silver Nissan struck a white Ford. Both drivers reported minor injuries, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

While investigating, officers determined the second driver, identified as 49-year-old Michael Pecile, showed signs of possible impairment. Police conducted field sobriety tests, then arrested Pecile for suspected driving under the influence causing injury.

Officers also determined Pecile was on active parole. 

Pecile was transported to a local hospital for care for his injuries. He was then booked in San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of felony DUI causing injury and felony parole violation.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is reminding the public that officers will be conducing a DUI checkpoint Friday night.
