As Tropical Storm Rachel arrives, San Luis Obispo County is under both high surf and coastal flood advisories on Sunday. The storm also has the potential to bring rain, strong winds and cooler temperatures to the Central Coast on Sunday evening and Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The high surf and coastal flooding advisories are in place from Sunday morning through Monday at 10 p.m. High tides are expected to peak around 7.5 feet on Sunday morning, and around 7 feet on Monday morning.
“Minor to moderate flooding of sea water is likely around high tide at beach and harbor areas that is uncommon with normal tidal ranges,” according to the National Weather Service. “Low lying areas will be most susceptible, including Oceano.”
