Gas prices surge in SLO County, find lowest costs

Amid unrest and multiple wars, the average price for gas surged in San Luis Obispo County last week jumping 16 cents to $6.35 a gallon, according to AAA. At $6.19, the average price for a gallon of gas is currently 16 cents less in Santa Barbara County.

“Crude oil remains high, averaging $100 per barrel amid continued volatility in the Strait of Hormuz.” according to AAA.

In California, the average price for a gallon of gas rose 17 cents to $6.15 last week. Nationally, gas prices jumped 16 cents to $4.47 a gallon.

SLO County currently has the seventh highest price for gas in the state. Listing the highest average price, Mono County’s price for a gallon of regular gasoline this week is $7.11. Sutter County boasts the lowest average cost at $5.84 a gallon.
