Man allegedly shoots and kills his wife in San Miguel, then flees

Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly shot and killed his wife in San Miguel Monday night, then fled the area.
Shortly before 10 p.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired report in San Miguel in the area of North River Road. Deputies arrived to find the woman dead at the scene, according to scanner traffic. She had been fatally shot one time in the chest.
The man reportedly fled the scene in a brown Ford F-150 truck with an extended cab. He was reportedly last seen fleeing eastbound from the scene of the shooting.
Both sheriff’s deputies and CHP officers were searching for the suspect. Law enforcement issued a be on the lookout for him. It is suspected he may have fled to Avenal.
