Plaskett Fire burns nearly 30,000 acres, only 1% containment

The Plaskett Fire burning in southern Monterey County has scorched 29,123 acres with only 1% containment. With cooling temperatures, fire behavior is slowing.

The eastern side of the fire remains the primary concern as it continues burning into Fort Hunter Liggett, where steep terrain, heavy vegetation, and limited access are complicating suppression efforts. Crews are working to reinforcing established control lines.

The Plaskett Fire also moved south towards San Luis Obispo County.

Evacuation orders remain in effect in Monterey County, with evacuation warnings extending into San Luis Obispo County.

Further north, the Timber Fire has burned 25,226 acres, with 23% containment and little growth on Wednesday.

Wont be a problem for long because every year Canada lends the US super high tech equipment, planes and other firefighting arsenal the US doesn’t have. Canada even loans us firefighters.

So when these firefighters are beaten down we can count on Canada.

Oh shit. Canada. That’s right. They may not help us until after 2028.

Speaking of shit. 80% of the materials to make toilet paper comes from Canada.

And before dumb asses says we will grow our own. We do not have a fraction of a fraction of the forests to grow and process enough paper, TP, grocery bags, cardboard to supply any 1 state-let alone the entire US.
