Person suffers major injuries in rollover crash near Santa Margarita

A person suffered major injuries as a result of a rollover crash Wednesday morning on Highway 101 near Santa Margarita.

Prior to 10:30 a.m., an SUV crashed into the center divider of Highway 101 about one mile north of Highway 58. The SUV overturned multiple times and came to a rest on its wheels, according to the CHP.

Responders transported the injured person to the hospital.

The crash blocked both southbound lanes of the highway, causing traffic to back up in the area. Authorities reopened both lanes by 12:40 p.m.
