Karl Rove accused of political amnesia

Bush political guru, Karl Rove, has a hole in his memory about his time in the Bush White House.

The Karl Rove sponsored ads attacking Congresswoman Lois Capps have been called “misleading” and “mostly opinions” by the non partisan group FACTCHECK.ORG .

Most of the current deficit is a result of Bush policies that Capps opposed…like the trillion dollar Iraq War, Medicare Part D, and tax cuts for the very wealthy.  The Bush Administration made no attempt to ever pay for these trillion dollar policies; instead, they put all of them on the taxpayer’s credit card.

Much of the rest of the deficit comes from the economic meltdown at the end of the eight years of the Bush Administration. A meltdown that resulted in higher unemployment, increased Medicaid costs, and lost tax revenue.

Rove also falsely attacks Capps on taxes. Congresswoman Capps has voted – repeatedley – for lower taxes.  Just recently, she voted for $300 billion in tax cuts that went to 95 percent of working families in the 2009 Recovery Act and another $850 billion in last year’s bi-partisan tax deal that reduced payroll taxes.

Congresswoman Capps supports a balanced plan to reign in our deficit, a plan that will protect Medicare.

Rove is rewriting the history of the Bush years in a pathetic attempt to restore his and his former boss’ reputation. What he doesn’t understand is that the independent minded voters of the Central Coast don’t need Karl Rove telling them what to think or how to vote.

Central Coast voters know that Lois Capps stands up for them and nothing Rove’s false ads say can change that.

Everyone has political amnesia but Lois Chappe,just like Obams has an excuse for anything that happens that he don’t have an answer for, but Lois Capps

always tried to discredit people because of the truths that have been said about her, Tom Watson tried to warn seniors that Lois was using Retirees for support and all the time she was working on OBAMACARE to rob senior citizens of our iRA accounts by 8.2% yearly in addition to what we pay now and cutting our medicare and medicade benefits and in addition tried to make senior Citizens pay for the extra insurance needede to fund Obamaqcare-lessbecause of the complexity of the program which is called Provision 51 Capps Law. She is called the “nice Lady” of the 23rd District of California . Lois is a liar and has gotten elected by deceiving people just like Obama and Nancy Pelosi who are close friends of Obama’s.

“The bottom line of this OBAMACARE is that it is completely unaffordable, makes our cost problems worse, will unfairly burden states with new Medicaid expenditures (California spends about 30 percent of its budget on Medi-Cal already and can hardly afford new burdens), and is quite possibly unconstitutional as lawsuits moving through the court system assert. There is nothing in our Constitution that allows the federal government to compel citizens to engage in economic activity, i.e. forcing them to buy insurance as a condition of merely existing. In addition, it will degrade the quality of care with more government interference and reduce medical innovations because of punitive new taxes on drug and medical-device companies. By definition, when you tax an activity you get less of it.


THE REAL TRUTH PROVISION Many of these provisions are already law.

For example, one of the provisions (which goes into effect in 2013) allows the government to confiscate nearly $4 out of every $100 of investment income many Americans will make… Including capital gains, dividends, interest, annuities, royalties, or rents.

Keep in mind: This “fee” is on top of all the taxes you already pay.

On their face, these provisions are supposed to “help” America get back on its feet.”

If all these right-wing extremists and Republicans would join the rest of us in voting for Capps election after election, then Lois Capps would catapult to national notice as being one of the most powerful and respected members of Congress on either side of the aisle.


Capps has the experience and track record of integrity that will serve us ALL well as her power and political influence grows and grows.


She deserves to be a Senator but probably enjoys the closer connection to her constituents that her role as Representative better allows for.


Lois Capps, God Bless Her, is doing pretty much exactly what those who voted for her expected her to do and want her to do. She is a true “representative” of her constituency.


Bottom line: Lois Capps is doing her job honorably and effectively and as expected by those who elected her. And maybe that is at least part of the reason why local voters continue re-electing her and why her political career continues to grow as is her national prominence.


For the sake of the vast majority who live on the Central Coast, liberal or conservative, it is much better that Lois Capps influence and political power and longevity grows. Interestingly, its the exact OPPOSITE with Kevin McCarthy who represents every ill thing that even hardcore Reagan-loving Republicans find distasteful. If you truly, truly believe that George Bush and Dick Cheney were political role models, then you’ve got your man with McCarthy. But anything short of a Bush-loving, Cheney-worshipping Heritage Foundation propaganda fueled zealot is encouraged to look elsewhere for respectable leadership.


Bottom line:

Based on the way the new U.S. Congressional districts are taking shape in California it is appearing that all of SLO County will be in what is now Lois Capps’ district. McCarthey will not represent any of SLO County starting with the 2012 election.


This presents a problem for Lois Capps as her current Congressional District hugs the coastline through Ventura, Santa Barbara and SLO County only moving inland to grab the City of San Luis Obispo Vote.


Her new district actually loses the Ventura County coastline vote and is replaced with inland sections of Ventura County. In addition, all the inland and North County parts of SLO County are included in her new district now.


The balance of voters’ ideology in her new district is far different than her old district, plain and simple.

Who is responsible for the budget that started on October 01, 2008?


Here is the CBO saying on Jan 08, 2009(12 days pre Obama)the deficit for THAT budget would be $1.2 trillion trillion. It ended at $1.4 trillion.

Many years ago in LA, My uncle’s friend (owner of a bank) had a son who ran for city council. He is the most pathetic, idiotic, artificial person you could meet.

During his campaign, he challenged Chief of Police Daryl Gates about black abuse, which got him the votes to win.

I can assure you his family has no special feelings for blacks in LA.

These politicians are like actors in an audition, they will sell their soul, and if they have funding they will not need to sell their mother.

Lois Capps may not be as shrewd as the other politicians or brilliant but she is down to earth, that is all I want.

And if they come here, I am for grabbing a pitchfork and running their “A” out of our town.

I am one proud American to know that my hard earned tax dollars went to the noble mission of removing tattoos from gang bangers. I truly believe that this was Representative Capps and the federal government’s finest hour.
