Woman hit by car at San Luis Obispo gas station, Paso Robles man arrested

Officers arrested a Paso Robles man who allegedly struck a 62-year-old woman with his car at a San Luis Obispo gas station on Saturday, and then fled the scene.
At about 3 p.m., a caller reported a car struck the woman in the parking lot of Conserve Fuel on Santa Rosa Street. The driver, later identified as 36-year-old Joseph Perez, then fled the scene, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
Responders then transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment for moderate, non-life threatening injuries.
CHP officers quickly located Perez, who was traveling northbound on Highway 101. Officers arrested Perez and booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of felony hit-and-run, misdemeanor probation violation and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license.
Perez remains in jail, where he is being held without bail, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office website.
Drugs and alcohol did not factor into the hit-and-run, police say.
