Support for chief swells

A majority of speakers at last night’s Paso Robles City Council meeting voiced  support for Police Chief Lisa Solomon amidst allegations of retaliation and sexual misconduct leveled by a half dozen current and former employees.

Prior to opening the council chamber meeting room doors, city staffers placed reserved signs on the first four rows of public seats which were then primarily occupied by city employees and Solomon supporters. A half an hour before the meeting was slated to begin, the council room was filled to capacity and city staffers began telling people attempting to attend that they needed to listen to the meeting in a hallway or reception area.

While more than 200 people chose to stay, many others left before or shortly after the meeting began. Of those who remained, nine spoke in favor of the chief while only three questioned her service to the community. No one mentioned the allegation of sexual misconduct or retaliation.

Several of the speakers seemed ill prepared with one man saying, “I do not know what I am supposed to say,” while looking at an audience member behind him. Shortly afterwards, he left the podium, but first stopped to tell the audience member, “I am sorry.”

While most of the speakers praised the chief as a good friend and neighbor, several attendees  standing outside the meeting room questioned her ethics. One former friend of Solomon’s, who said she dated a member of a band Solomon sang with, voiced concerns about Solomon’s behavior while entertaining in the evenings and serving as a police commander during the day.

“She would end her show by strutting across the bar top at the Paso Robles Inn singing “Let’s give them something to talk about,” Wendy McIntire said. “At that time she was a police lieutenant.”

Listening to Dan on the radio, Dan said that there were 3 or 4 cops in the front as opposed to 10. He’s also insinuating that the city or the chief ‘fixed the room’. When someone is being attacked isn’t it okay to have people there to support them?. I guess it’s easier to pick on or bully someone when they’re by themselves, good thing Solomon had some supporters there. He said it appeared to be a planned thing, well didn’t the people here plan to go there to support each other in the same way that Solomon allegedly planed her supporters, of course it was a plan. I guess Dan might have been happier if Solomon was there all by herself without any support so she could possibly get bombarded. This really seems like an insult to those that showed up support Solomon. He’s saying along with some here that Solomon’s supporters are all mindless puppets.

Oh geez, Dan is anti union, great.

Now he’s on this thing that Mary is regarding that they’re plotting to undermine people’s public right to speech through intimidation.

Oh no, here goes Dave with the Cuddy thing.

Dave is saying that everyone is telling him how wrong the Cuddy thing is. I wonder why everyones not telling me that. Granted perhaps Cuddy could have done without the name calling. But the rest of the criticism is well founded. Wow, Dave said that Cuddy called him a terrorist, I guess I can see why Dave’s not fond of him. I guess Cuddy has a thing for calling people names, that’s not good.

Then Dan rounded it out by saying that this is the worse thing that’s hit Paso. To me the schools missing funds are worse than this, at least at this point. So far we don’t know if this is big thing or not.

That’s my review of Dan’s visit on Dave’s show.

TQ: “Dave is saying that everyone is telling him how wrong the Cuddy thing is. I wonder why everyones not telling me that.”

Because nobody likes you and so nobody wants to talk to you.

Typo: I don’t need your take on Dan being on Dave’s show; I listen myself, I call in sometimes, I make up my own mind.

Mary: Please don’t allow yourself to stoop to the level of calling other posters here names; you are smarter than that by what I read of your comments. Thanks.

Umm bob, you’re not the only one here. Geez maybe I wasn’t even talking to you. I’m sorry, I didn’t know that everyone would be listening to it, I didn’t mean to offend anyone. BTW, I always thought that you might be Norske from the Trib, you sure write like him. I also call Dave’s show sometimes. I wasn’t trying to make up anyone’s mind, just calling it as I saw it.

Typo, No, I am [not] Norske; at the Tribune I post as “bobfromsanluis” just as I do here. Thanks to both you and Mary for your adult replies.

Not true. You were attempting to put your own spin on what happened on the show. Please, don’t pretend it was otherwise.

Yes Mary, I was putting my spin on it, I wasn’t ‘pretending’ to do anything. As I said and as I have to do so often I’ll repeat myself, I was just calling as I saw it. I didn’t say that I was giving a journalistic non partial recap. Geez would you stop being so mean? Lighten up.

Mea culpa. It’s the silly hour, and I haven’t even had any silly water yet.

LOL nice Mary, you’re a class act.

Everyone

Anyone can agree or disagree about the articles and what is reported or what is not.

The attacks on other users stops now.

The reason this site has a moderator is because of what vitriol and bitching about other users used to fill the comments. Even now the fighting and complaining drives away readers, some new some old timers.

We here at CCN want to bring discourse and community to the news, not discord and insults.

Interesting fact: at CCN we have a all or nothing comment deletion policy. You can write a comment that rivals Hamlet’s soliloquy but if you add a word turd or personal attack to the end of your comment, it all goes.

This is the line_________________________________________________ and we will be enforcing it with added vigor in the days ahead.

Brother Slowerfaster,

Uh, you’re really pushing the proverbial envelope with Jesus at this time! I am sure that He is shaking His head in disgust while reading your ungodly double entendres.

Lisa might be singing a different song when the full investigation is completed. We can only assume that she’ll be learning Neco Case’s “Prison Girls” as a part of her repertoire.

OMIGOSH !

I just noticed that all of the CHAIRS were RED !

WHAT a nefarious plot and disguises !

Course, it did make it difficult to stand up and speak when someone is sitting on you !

( Especially the first fellow on the left in the photo. )

Lisa Solomon will not walk on this. She will be held accountable and so will her support staff. Lisa knows its all going to come out. The articles have just scratched the surface. Last night Lisa called up all her buddies and took over the city council meeting. The intimidation of speaking out in front of her “fan club” was huge. Nobody came forward. Lisa took over the meeting and prevented citizens from speaking in a way which should attest to her bully tactics and lack of character. One of Lisa’s fan club flipped off a CCN reporter.

For a citizen to speak out against a cop is a huge nerve racking step. Just speaking to a crowed room when you are not used to public speaking is a huge deal. Its a bigger deal whens its the top cop. Not many people want to speak out against a top cop when they are being flipped off or glared at by her supporters and her officers. Lisa once again gets special treatment. Lisa knows whens all the ugly details come out all the people standing in that room are going to be very disappointed in her. Lisa is a good politician. Lisa knows how to play “the game” very well. Lisa is not chief because she was good street cop or because she worked hard earning it by merit. Lisa is Chief because she was fast tracked, kissed the right buttocks, backstabbed or burned the right cops, and politicked her way to the top. Same as her 2nd in command, Robert Burton. This is the reason both are despised by their agency. Don’t let the uniform last night fool you. Lisa normally never wears one. The city council ought to be ashamed of last night. It was a spectacle not a productive meeting where both sides were heard. A special city council meeting should have been had a week ago. Its has been confirmed the city is investigating her for misconduct. If this was a male in the same position, he would have been on administrative leave a long time ago. Hypocrisy and double standards still reign true in that city. Thankfully we have Ian Parkinson who actually has his agency fight crime in the Paso area.

Can we assume that you had the guts to actually speak your opinion at the meeting, or are you more comfortable hiding behind your pseudonym on an anonymous online site that has turned into a lynch mob? I have no dog in this fight but can smell the total lack of anything approaching due process that the mob wants.

srichison,

Damn it! I searched all over the internets and couldn’t find a S. Richison, Srichison, or any variation thereof in our area! Why? Have you in fact become what you’re allegedly against, and that is, using a “pseudonym” yourself to hide behind?

Oh, and since when is the TRUE news source of CCN an “anonymous” online site? LOL Wait, Cuddy, is this you, AGAIN?

Addressing the facts at this time pertaining to this story, is considered by you, a lynch mob? The due process of the law will eventually come forth through investigations, but in the mean time, you want it to be within a mob mentality to support your otherwise weak assertions. How child like for even bringing up this insidious notion.

Oh, I get it, Lisa, is this you AGAIN? :)

Maybe they are just saving it for court !

GetItRight, You are correct

Its called a “de-nerving process or setting” designed to control the environment to make nervrous and inhibit!

They said on the Tribune that the crown in support for the chief was large and the protesters outside was few.

Lets see what the real numbers are in the next election.

In the meantime, I think the PRPD should follow through and sue for unlawful quotas!

We’ll explore that, and other pertinent issues, when Dave Congalton and I unwrap and examine the past few days, 6:05 p.m., Home Town Radio, 920KVEC.

My prayer (Ted Slanders in mind) is for CCN to do a story on MaryMalone, who she is, and what agenda drives her pathetic rants.

Seriously

Ignore my posts. Take responsibility for what you read, and just don’t read my posts.

I will be on bended knee in remote metaphorical ‘Circle” so that your petition is granted .

AMEN !

“Having ten officers in full gear surrounding the police chief, in a CITY COUNCIL MEETING, does give that jack-booted-thug ambiance, however.”

Mary, Mary, Mary,

You’re wrong yet again. The Chief’s husband was sitting on one side of her, in civilian attire, a PRPD Captain was sitting on the other side of her in uniform and a Lieutenant was sitting behind her wearing civilian clothes. Where do you come up with this stuff? Do you just pull it out of thin air or what? How can you put a spin on these facts by stating, “Having ten officers in full gear surrounding the police chief”? Some of us were actually there! We saw who was sitting around her. And you have the audacity to call someone a liar on this blog.

OMG, her husband was at the meeting?

Dang! You go, man. Strut your bad cuckolded self!

That’s your response?????? Really?? Just throw out some lies and go about your business.

Oh, get off of it. She’s grabbing hoo-hoos in hot tubs, rubbing her breasts on subordinates, yadda yadda yadda. Please, don’t pretend she’s a blushing virgin.

That’s it pasodude, you nailed it. She’s diverting from the question because she got caught in another lie. Every time they rant on about Solomon being surrounded by 10 cops in riot gear I look at that picture and I look at the recording on my Tivo and I wonder if they were at a different meeting as I believe you have said but then I remember wait, most of them weren’t even there. Every time Mary says that people weren’t allowed in the council chambers I look at the video and see people lined up against the walls IN the council chambers and some with signs that indicate that they are part of the radish pack. So you see, she has is no honest answer, the only honest answer is what you saw with your eyes.

Pseudodude doesn’t think you know what you are talking about because you weren’t at the meeting.

The Captain was in Uniform? What? Was it casual Tuesday or something?

Maybe she had a gig as a dominatrix after the city council show was over.

Uniform code must had changed, for i fail to see anyone sitting next to her in uniform.

Although this photo does not show it, there were in fact many uniformed officers in attendance.

Read cruzer’s post. Just because they weren’t in that picture does not mean they were not there.

I posted this on another story and feel it needs repeating here. Who really is this person in the top slot at Paso PD? How did she get here, and why do we keep her? She has shown herself to be less than qualified even before these stories broke.

It just irks my ass that people like this file Bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is a legal process for people who are broke, not for two Govt. employees earning over 300K combined! This needs to be looked into.

This needs repeating (copied from SMPD website);

LAW ENFORCEMENT CODE OF ETHICS

As A Law Enforcement Officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice.

I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restrain; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential nature or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of my duty.

I will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities.

I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the police service. I will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating myself before God to my chosen profession…law enforcement

I haven’t attacked any of the alleged victims. I challenge you to find a post where I attacked them.
