Accused child molester turns himself in
August 4, 2014
A man on the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office’s most wanted list turned himself in to authorities on Friday.
Paul Jacob Speer, 39, is charged with 20 counts of committing lewd acts with a child under the age of 14. Officers booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail around 5:30 p.m. on $1 million bail.
Nine days prior, the sheriff’s office posted a photo of Speer on its Facebook page and requested that anyone with knowledge of his location contact law enforcement. The Facebook post stated that Speer’s last known residence was in Nipomo.
Several days later, the sheriff’s office updated the Facebook post saying that it had received tips about the suspect and that investigators were searching for him.
Since the details, investigators have not released any more details about Speer’s alleged molestation offense.
