At 1:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire burning east of the lake off Lake Nacimiento Drive. The fire burned eight acres before firefighters contained it.

Fire officials said having crews already stationed in the area made it easier to fight the blaze.

The Chimney Fire is now 91 percent contained. Authorities have lifted all evacuation orders and expect full containment by Saturday.

As of Monday morning, the Chimney Fire has burned 46,344 acres. It has destroyed 49 homes and 21 outbuildings.

Another small fire broke out Wednesday afternoon near Lopez Lake in South County. Firefighters contained the blaze after it burned three acres.
