Passenger killed in crash near Santa Margarita

A passenger was killed Friday evening in a single vehicle accident on Highway 58 about eight miles east of Santa Margarita, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The passenger was thrown from the vehicle as it went over an embankment. Emergency personnel pronounced the passenger dead at the scene.
CHP officials are not releasing further information about the crash or the deceased at this time.
