Woman’s body found in Pismo Beach waters

An approximately 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead Sunday morning shortly after her body was found in the surf near Shell Beach. Pismo Beach police have deemed the death suspicious.
Around 7:20 a.m., Pismo Beach police responded to a call about a possible dead body rolling in the surf west of Silver Shoals. Cal Fire personnel helped officers bring the body to shore, and medical personnel immediately began administering CPR.
Responders transported the woman to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, but doctors did not manage to resuscitate her. The woman was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 a.m., according to the Pismo Beach Police Department.
The police department is currently withholding the woman’s identity as her relatives are notified. Police officials plan to release more information about the case at a later time.
A suspicious death investigation is ongoing.
