Three SLO County residents died from COVID-19 last week

July 13, 2021

After no new COVID-19 deaths in nearly two months, three San Luis Obispo County residents died last week from the virus. One resident was in their 50s, one was in their 60s and one was in their 70s.

The number of new COVID-19 cases in San Luis Obispo County rose from 1.4 to 2.0 per 100,000 residents during the past three weeks, according to California Case statistics. State averages increased from 1.8 to 3.8 confirmed cases per 100,000 residents.

“It is heartbreaking to lose valued members of our community to COVID-19, and even more painful now that we have the tools to protect each other and prevent this kind of tragic loss,” said Dr. Penny Borenstein, SLO County health officer. “I extend my sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones who are mourning today.”

During the past seven days, SLO County reported 70 new coronavirus cases. Of those, Paso Robles leads with 16 cases, followed by San Luis Obispo and Nipomo with 10 each, Atascadero with seven and Los Osos with six.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 21,588 people in SLO County have tested positive for the virus and 264 have died. There are six SLO County residents in the hospital receiving treatment for the virus.

There have been 3,840,696, positive cases, and 63,902 deaths in California.

More than 34,793,868 U.S. residents have tested positive for the virus, and 623,309 have died.

In addition, the number of people infected with the virus worldwide continues to increase: 188,485,194 cases with 4,063,079 dead.

607,771 dead can the knuckle draggers get a clue?

AllAboutTheBenjamins

They won’t but now that we have the vaccines I would stop worrying about the people who don’t want it send those vaccines to other countries who have people who do want it. I wonder how many of those 600k were trump supporters? He may have actually won the election had he not killed off his loyal subjects. Oh well less idiots to vote for Don the con and his enablers in government local state and federal. This coming from a lifelong republican. Personal responsibility remember

mullyman, Rambunctious, sardonicsentiment, Messkit, derasmus, etc.

You need to get your head around this. Trump is a proven incompetent as shown by the COVID crises. He is a corrupt investor-cheating, tax-evading crook. He is a whore mongering moral degenerate. There is no excuse, no justification, no rationalization, no offsetting example. Trump is in a class alone. 608,000 and counting, souls are those that died to show us this. Honor their deaths by wising up.

mullyman

It should of always been called the ” CHINA ” VIRUS but Biden and unfortunately many other countries are not calling China out on this. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!

modernwelding

Maybe the Trump bamboozle China virus

Rambunctious

News reports like this are hurting the USA….by design I sadly presume….

RalphKane

We’re almost in the “unvaccinated are terrorists” phase

paragon

What “hurts” the US is hiding the truth behind naive pollyannish falsehoods. The sunlight of truth is the disinfectant for tyranny.

mazin

Happening around the world

Fleet

Just wondering what the numbers are for people having bad reactions to the vaccine or even death. I was told someone in the 5 Cities died from the vaccine just recently who was in their 50’s.

mazin

And who died in the 5 Cities area? Specifics … wondering … was told … a little bird sat on my shoulder? Not really actionable information.

paragon

It’s not unheard of for a person in their 50s to die and many people in their 50s have gotten the vaccine. Unless this “person you heard about” happened to die of a known vaccine complication, it is far more likely they died of natural causes or a medical cause other than the vaccine, despite the narrative of the anti-vax crowd.

Statistics don’t lie. If you look at the group that has gotten COVID and the much larger group that has gotten the vaccine, you will see a far higher number of all-cause deaths in the COVID group over the vaccine group. So yeah, pick your poison, but I know which group I’d rather be in.

AllAboutTheBenjamins

Try doing some fact checking before spreading fake news

sardonicsentiment

Honestly it’s stories like this why I blame the media for the excessive hysteria surrounding covid-19. Yellow journalism.

mazin

Your medical background is?

608,000 deaths from COVID in the USA says “Why trust non-medical opinions particularly from the right wing of the political spectrum and their pundits?”

Their moonshots in the past: 1) COVID is all a Hoax; 2) COVID going to “fade away” even without a vaccine; 3) take Hydroxychloroquine or Chloroquine; 4) don’t wear masks. Sardonic, who should follow medical advise from right wing nitwits?

The up tick is nothing to be hysterical about, but is something to take action towards. Keep your immune system is good shape; get fully vaccinated with either Pfizer or Moderna; if in a crowded situation, like an airplane, wear a mask or two.

sardonicsentiment

Your excessive hysteria is only proving my point lol. Key word excessive. Wash your hands often and try not to touch your orifices throughout the day and you’ll be fine lol.

mazin

Smart, easy, cheap … like brushing teeth, personal hygiene, check ups, cleaning dishes, storing food safely … the things mama tried in vain to teach.

Messkit

Well, where can we start?

Trump said the NEWS REPORTING of the virus is a hoax. Not the disease itself, because he had already closed travel to China long before that statement. in anticipation of it being spread easily. (remember how EVERYONE on the left screamed “xenophobic” about that? I do.)

Yes, virus’s have a tendency to “fade away” when herd immunity gains ground. Just like, it is very very rare for someone to die directly from the common cold. Also, not many pandemics lately from the Spanish Flu, amirite?

As you may not have read lately, Hydroxychloroquine really does work…like Trump said: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.05.28.21258012v1 (…..It’s “Science”)

Dr Fauci repeatedly changed the national stance on masks: Don’t need them…..need them. Highly effective….don’t work at all. Two masks, or one if you don’t want to. We got nearly a year of him flip flopping almost monthly on that subject.

New York and California shut down, closed the doors, rolled up the sidewalks, and mandated masks for everyone or else! (unless you were in government, then it was merely an option), and had very high contagion numbers. Florida, Texas, and South Dakota didn’t, and had marginally better survival rate outcomes.

Questioning someone medical background knowldege, is tantamount to sticking out your tongue and saying neener neener, because you really don’t know how much they know.

derasmus

And to the “medical knowledge” response, it is irrelevant and a lazy mans way to argue. I mean for Pete’s sake, I’m pretty sure breathing air on the moon surface is, well, difficult at best. Yet, I am not an astronaut, never been to the moon, not an astrophysicist…but I’ll bet my nearly paid off house that I’m correct.

Medicine and medical professionals can be wrong, they are just human, doing the best they can so asking questions of “experts” and scrutinizing what they say is not tantamount to blasphemy. Really, some folks remind me of the attitude the establishment took along with the Church when Galileo questioned the “establishment.”

Question authority

derasmus

FACT: The total number of deaths due DIRECTLY to Covid being called into question, (i.e. Bay Area) still in the hundred of thousands but likely inflated, and arguably too many, and should nonetheless be taken seriously.

FACT: Trump banned flights into the US from China then Europe early on. He was labeled a racist (“xenophobic ”) early on by Beijing Joe and even some Republicans, and to their credit they later said he was right. Experts like Fauci said doing so likely saved tens of thousands of lives. Remember the models and projections coming from the University of Washington, the CDC, John’s Hopkins, etc. ? Estimates of deaths were in the millions.

FACT: As for a “moon shot,” Operation Warp Speed was just that, reminiscent of JFK’s articulation about landing a man on the moon before the decade…”experts” (Fauci) and others said it could take a minimum of 2-3 years. Boy were they wrong, 10 months! Thank you President Trump and big Pharma, working collaboratively!

All facts, irrefutable, even if you hate Trump and Republicans. Trump is gone, time to get off the Trump hate train folks and hold the present administration and congressional majority feet to the fire like, just like Trump. Can ya’all do that?

I am skeptical that will ever happen by the media and the left. Don’t think they can be objective.

kettle

April 23: President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of an “injection” of disinfectant into a person infected with the coronavirus as a deterrent to the virus during his daily briefing Thursday.

April 29: Operation Warp Speed is revealed in the press.

May 19: President Donald Trump claimed Monday he is taking daily doses of hydroxychloroquine, a drug he’s long touted as a potential coronavirus cure, Trump said he began taking the antimalarial drug after consulting the White House doctor, though stopped short of saying his physician had actually recommended the drug.

“A couple of weeks ago, I started taking it,” Trump said. He later said he’d been taking it every day for a week and a half.

“Can ya’all do that?” Lets not talk about it, how CONvenient.

It’s not hate, Trump is a con man. Fact.

WHEN, oh WHEN, will the devotees wise up?

May 2018, The Trump Administration disbands the White House pandemic response team.

July 2019, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency left the post, and Trump Administration eliminated the role and all but 4 of the staff [from 47].

1/22/20, Trump “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

1/24, Trump praises China’s handling of the coronavirus: “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

1/30, “The lack of immune protection or an existing cure or vaccine would leave Americans defenseless in the case of a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on US soil,…This lack of protection elevates the risk of the coronavirus evolving into a full-blown pandemic, imperiling the lives of millions of Americans.” [Memo from Trump Trade Advisor Peter Navarro]

2/2, Trump “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

2/7, “It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu… This is deadly stuff” [Trump in a private interview with Bob Woodward from The Washington Post made public on Sept. 9/20]

2/10, Trump “I think the virus is going to be—it’s going to be fine.”

“Looks like by April, you know in theory when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.”

2/24, Trump “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… the Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

2/25, Trump “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus.”

“I think that’s a problem that’s going to go away… They have studied it. They know very much. In fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.”

2/26, Trump “The 15 (cases in the US) within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.”

“We’re going very substantially down, not up.”

“Well, we’re testing everybody that we need to test. And we’re finding very little problem. Very little problem.”

“This is a flu. This is like a flu.”

2/27, Trump “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

2/28, Trump “We’re ordering a lot of supplies. We’re ordering a lot of, uh, elements that frankly we wouldn’t be ordering unless it was something like this. But we’re ordering a lot of different elements of medical.”

I can go on until the end of his term, if you wish.

Dera, when are you going to figure out your being conned?

AllAboutTheBenjamins

I’ll get off the trump hate train when you get off the trump train
