Federal officials released San Luis Obispo County marijuana mogul Helios Dayspring from federal prison last week and placed him in either home confinement or a halfway house, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

Dayspring is currently serving a 22-month sentence for bribery and tax fraud. After just seven months in prison, Dayspring is scheduled for release on Jan. 27, 2024, under the First Step Act.

To combat the spread of Covid-19, the federal prison system is permitting inmates who have completed specific Bureau of Prison programs to earn early release and transfers to home confinement or halfway houses.

In 2016, CalCoastNews first reported allegations that former SLO County Supervisor Adam Hill was asking marijuana business owners to pay bribes in return for favorable votes. For years, CalCoastNews exclusively reported about Dayspring’s alleged bribery, tax evasion, illegal cannabis sales and property fraud.

After his home was raided, Dayspring admitted to paying thousands of dollars in bribes to former-San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill for favorable votes on his cannabis business interests. While under a federal investigation, Hill committed suicide.

Dayspring agreed to plead guilty to bribery and tax evasion, pay $3.4 million in restitution to the IRS and cooperate in the government’s ongoing investigation, as part of a plea agreement.

In this business as usual, corrupt, San Luis Obispo, back door deal. Dayspring bribed no one. He went away for bribing no one. Because in a lawful civilized society, the person(s) he bribed would also be serving a sentence. Usually reduced in exchange for testimony. Not in Danny Dows town. Who are they protecting this time? Sweet deal though Dayspring! Couple months at a camp in exchange for making millions? #CrimePays.

Seems interesting that even though prisons were hot spots for Covid, prisoners were/are not required to get the vaccine and CO unions fought hard against any mandates.

Wait, so you get released from prison to a halfway house because you might spread Covid in prison but not in a halfway house? What happened to all the glorious miracle vaccines and their infinite boosters? If you’re in prison, then you are definitely available to get like a booster every month if needed. By the way, whatever happened to Heidi Harmon? Now that Helios is free, I doubt he’s going to be naming anymore names. Politics being the only real job Harmon ever had, I’d think she be running for office again for the benefits of a regular salary and a bottomless supply of pot from whomever the current local Dope Mogul in charge might be that needs a political favor.

It’s sad to hear that Harmon has been living rent-free in your head! We were happy to forget about that name until you brought her up. Who cares what happened to her, I’m just glad she’s gone and I doubt she’s coming back. Also, you might want to read up on how vaccines actually work.
