Why I voted to rein in Trump’s war powers

Congressman Salud Carbajal at San Luis Ranch

OPINION by CONGRESSMAN SALUD CARBAJAL

President Trump promised to put Americans first and end foreign wars, but his actions in Iran clearly break those promises.

The American people want solutions to the issues close to home, such as addressing the high cost of living. They do not want to be dragged into another reckless and endless war in the Middle East that risks the lives of U.S. service members and innocent civilians.

That’s why, last week, I voted in support of legislation to rein in Trump’s war powers.

While Trump focuses his attention abroad, I recently spent time traveling across the Central Coast speaking with many of you about the affordability crisis in our country and what we can do to fix it.

On the first stop of my affordability tour, I visited City Farm SLO to hear how Trump’s and Republicans’ SNAP cuts and tariffs are hurting small farmers and increasing food insecurity in our communities. I remain committed to supporting local agriculture, protecting nutrition programs, and lowering costs so that local farmers and families can thrive.

While in San Luis Obispo, I also met with students at Cuesta College to hear how the affordability crisis is impacting them too. From rising housing costs to student debt, too many college kids are being priced out of opportunity.

I recently introduced a bill to increase the Pell Grant and deliver the financial relief our young people need to start a brighter future.

During my last stop in SLO County, I spoke with healthcare providers from the SLO Noor Foundation about the ‘big ugly bill’ and its role in raising health insurance costs.

Under this disastrous bill, 17 million people are set to lose their health insurance or see higher premiums. Americans deserve better, and I promise to continue fighting for a system that prioritizes patients over profits.

On the last day of my affordability tour, I connected with caregivers from CommUnify’s Storyteller Children’s Center in Santa Barbara to discuss the ongoing childcare crisis. Since taking office, the Trump administration has laid off thousands of childcare workers and blocked billions of dollars in funding for these programs.

Affordable, accessible childcare is essential for both children and families, and I will continue to prioritize legislation that increases child care slots and pays caregivers fairly.

My affordability tour concluded at Los Agaves Restaurant, where I talked to the owners about how tariffs and other policy changes are affecting their business. Rising costs on imported goods and ingredients are driving up prices for restaurants and patrons. It is essential that we enact policies that support
local entrepreneurs and keep our economy strong.

Thank you CONGRESSMAN SALUD CARBAJAL. It takes courage to stand up to this administration and the CULT that follow him.

The democratic party that’s votes democratic simply to vote democratic with ill disregard to policy is by far more of a cult than any “Kool-aid” drinking so-to-say republican base that voted for DJT!!! Those who vote republican vote for common sense policy!!! Those who voted democratic vote to simply oppose DJT!!!!

What a doofus. Go away. He hasn’t done a thing for his district except pose.

I expect a statement condemning Caesar Chavez to be issued by him any minute now too, in lockstep with the others suddenly jumping at the opportunity to cancel someone.

Carbajal has done absolutely nothing for the people he “supposedly represents!!!” He should be removed!

Now now. He did go and fight to defend the child labor racket on the weed farm. Like a hero…..or something.

Salud Carbajal is a low-IQ, NON-AMERICAN, swamp monster, embarrassment to REAL American Patriots of American descent.

Here’s how WE VOTED…

WE THE PEOPLE, in the current vast majority, voted for this. ALL OF THIS!

Additionally, both the HOR and Senate recently voted to allow the USA POTUS and Commander-In-Chief to continue with his legal decision.

Thus, the standard anti-American Salud Carbajal vote is nothing more than a neutered opinion of an ILLEGAL INVADER. One of which will be brought to heel, soon. Despite his despicable, (documented) fraudulent DemoNcrat machine machinations.

NEVER Vote DemoNcrat Again

Californians Against DemoNcrats!

Save California…Vote Republican 2026

*Hispanic descent

Cheesy and worthless machine politician. Salud is an embarrassment.

What a joke of a so called congessman…embarrassing!!!!

He would Never say “I voted in support of legislation to rein in Joe Biden’s war powers spending.”

  • The United States has made available approximately $188 billion in total funding for Ukraine-related aid following the February 2022 invasion. Stemming from five key legislative packages. Ok:

  • April 2024: Voted for the $95 billion national security package, which included over $60 billion in aid for Ukraine, calling it “life-saving” and essential to prevent Russia from overrunning the country.

  • 2022–2023: Supported multiple aid packages, including a $13.6 billion package in March 2022.

  • Accountability: Voted for the Ukraine War Crime Deterrence and Accountability Act to document war crimes by Russian forces.

  • Visit: Traveled to Ukraine in December 2022 with a bipartisan delegation to meet with military leaders, subsequently urging congress to avoid “disastrous” delays in funding.

  • Energy: Supported the “Suspending Energy Imports from Russia Act” to stop Russian oil, gas, and coal imports. House.gov

  • Carbajal has consistently described the support as critical for national security and democracy

Don’t forget the $17.7 billion in cash strapped on pallets, sent by Obama and Biden to Iran.

We are witnessing the Iranian rocket, missile, and drone attacks and destruction on neutral middle East countries, that was wholly paid for with that cash.

Boom! Facts.

I did not see Salud, a military veteran himself, stand and honor Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Eric Slover, a helicopter pilot and Retired Navy Capt. E. Royce Williams, 100 years old, both receiving the “Metal of Honor”. As a Military Veteran myself I have lost all respect of Salud. You set aside all politics and honor a “Brother In Arms”! If I missed the moment of “his respect”, I would like to see it.

You drank the kool-aid.

The kool-aid reference is cooked!!! Over used and lost it’s effect. Come with something more original 4VShabib!!!!

But the previous president adding 1 trillion to the national debt every 90 days wasn’t a concern to Rep Carbajal and didn’t need to be reigned in?
