Suspect killed in officer involved shooting in Paso Robles

An officer involved fatal shooting in Paso Robles has led to the closure of southbound Highway 101 at Spring Street.
Shortly after 8 a.m., officers discovered a Ram truck at Hampton Inn Suites parking lot. The truck was associated with a man who has threatened suicide by cop.
The suspect fled, rammed a sheriff’s vehicle and drove at speeds of over 100 mph. A spike strip was placed on the freeway, the truck stopped and the suspect grabbed at an item. The suspect was shot and killed.
Shortly before 9 a.m., an alert reported San Luis Obispo County sheriff deputies had closed southbound Highway 101 because of police activity in the area. Law enforcement is asking the public to avoid the area until further notice.
