Juvenile arrested after shooting in Santa Maria

Santa Maria police officers arrested a juvenile suspect following a shooting on Wednesday evening.
Just before 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of South Western Drive over a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located suspects fleeing the area, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
Officers pursued the suspects on foot and contacted them. Police only took one suspect into custody.
During the investigation into the shooting, officers recovered a firearm believed to be associated with the incident. Officers arrested the juvenile suspect on charges related to the shooting and additional firearm offenses.
