Bakersfield police officers are searching for a gunman who fired multiple rounds at a TV newsroom in Bakersfield on both Friday night and Tuesday morning.
On Friday night, a dark vehicle pulled in front of the KBAK/KBFX newsroom where the driver sat for several minutes before firing 10 shots into the building. The rounds were fired into a conference room and an office.
On Tuesday morning, gunshots were again fired into the newsroom. No one was hurt, and the shooter remains on the lose.
“We are cooperating fully with the Bakersfield Police Department as it investigates a shooting incident at our KBAK/KBFX studios Friday evening,” according to Jessica Belluci with Sinclair Broadcast Group. “Thankfully, no one was injured. The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority, and we are taking appropriate steps to ensure a safe and secure workplace. We appreciate the efforts of local law enforcement as the investigation continues.”
