San Luis Obispo police officers arrested a 65-year-old sex offender for possession of child porn and drugs on Wednesday.
In early October, a tip was provided to law enforcement regarding suspected child abuse material being uploaded through a popular search engine. Detectives traced the child porn uploads to Bryan Fox, a registered sex offender living in San Luis Obispo.
With a prior conviction for lewd acts with a minor under 14 years of age, Fox was supposed to register as a sex offender, which he failed to do.
After obtaining a warrant for his arrest, officers located and arrested Fox. Officers booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail on the following charges:
- Felony failure to register as a sex offender
- Felony possession of child pornography by a registered sex offender
- Misdemeanor possession of child pornography
- Felony possession of a controlled substance
- Felony committing a felony while out on bail
His bail is set a $110,000.
The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators ask anyone with information about this case to contact Detective Sofia Marques at smarques@slocity.org or (805) 594-8060.
