Atascadero homicide victim identified

The Atascadero Police Department has identified the victim of a shooting death Wednesday as 52-year-old Colleen Maria Barga-Milbury.
A suspect shot and killed Barga-Milbury at her Atascadero residence in the 4300 block of Tranquilla Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police have yet to identify a suspect or a motive.
Atascadero police investigators worked throughout the day Thursday following up on possible leads. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
Evidence indicates the shooting death likely resulted from a directed attack against the victim.
