An Atascadero man went on a free-of-charge shopping spree at the Paso Robles WalMart, but failed to fit his overload into the getaway vehicle.

Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, the suspect entered WalMart and walked directly to the electronics section. He place two flat screen televisions and one computer in a shopping cart, walked by the cash registers and out the front doors, according to Paso Robles police.

On the way out, an employee questioned him if he had paid for the merchandise. Two employees then followed him out to his car, which was parked nearby.

The man placed the computer in his car but could not fit the televisions in the trunk. He left the televisions behind and fled the area in his car.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified the man as 25-year-old Kyle James Learmonth. Atascadero police searched Learmonth’s home on Sunday, where they located the stolen computer.

Police returned the computer to WalMart and arrested Learmonth for grand theft. Learmonth, who is currently on probation, was booked in San Luis Obispo County Jail.

He remains in jail on $20,000 bail.

Mama always said, stupid is as stupid does………………..

I think he covered all his bases here.

Well, seeing as he’s a legal resident (citizen) of this fine country, he likely will be serving time for this.

anyone caught shoplifting at Walmart gets prosecuted

Now don’t get too down on Mr. Learmonth. After all, he is just a product of our education

system – and I’m not sure that our schools spend much time on teaching right from

wrong.

And also, he had just finished watching the movie “Dumb and Dumber” and decided he

could do a sequel – “Dumbest”. Nailed it!

Or he may have decided that being in jail (cot + 3 hots) was better than what he had

going on in his life right now.

Teaching right from wrong is the job of the parents. Schools teach the 3 R’s (and incidentally only one of them begins with the letter “r”).

Do your Christmas shoplifting early. Avoid the last minute rush.

Nice work public school system…keep up the good work!

huh?

“huh?”

as I said Nice work….

Also recovered was a textbook he was perusing, which textbook was stolen from the Cal Poly student bookstore; “Orbital Mechanics for Rocket Scientists”.

Yes. He probably left the bigger car at home to save gas money due to having to drive those 10 extra miles to Paso.

Will be much more convenient when Walmart is in Atrashcadero.

Not just stupid, but repeat-offender stupid. Like he didn’t know that Wal-Mart has video cameras?

And the Atascadero Walmart store isn’t open yet.
