Senators say California must dump Donald Trump

Ten state senators all calling on state-run enterprises, private businesses and individuals in California to stop investing money with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, whom they accuse of racism and hate speech.

On Wednesday, Sen. Isadore Hall, D-Compton, along with nine colleagues, introduced Senate Resolution 39, which calls for divestment from Trump, The Trump Organization and affiliates. It likewise condemns U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, also a Republican presidential candidate, for defending Trump’s remarks.

The resolution quotes Trump from remarks he made at a presidential campaign event last month.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists,” Trump said.

Trump went on to say, “And some, I assume, are good people.” The resolution omits that sentence, though.

“Presidential candidates including Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have unfairly demonized and falsely blamed undocumented immigrant families for a range of problems and challenges facing the United States,” the resolution states.

If adopted, the resolution will not compel anyone by law to divest from Trump’s holdings.

Hall told the Sacramento Bee that he is in discussions with the state’s public retirement systems. If they have any holdings in Trump enterprises, he will introduce a divestment bill, Hall said.

Trump is a fatuous blowhard, but he does speak for thousands of know-nothings and assorted lunatic extremists.

Check out the book: “Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free”.
Trump may not be stupid per se, but like any huckster, he sees a whole bunch of suckers ripe for the taking. He doesn’t even need to recruit the dummies to come to one of his casinos to be fleeced. They’ll fork over their $$$ willingly.

I would suggest that the know nothings are the people that voted for the current commander and chief. We have a healthcare law that is not working with costs so high one must lie about his income to be able to afford the insurance and once you have it you can’t afford the co-pays and the deductible.
We are in the 7th year of a non recovery with millions of folks still out of work or under employed, Our nation is trying to make a nuclear arms deal with a terrorist nation that will never honor any agreement they sign on to.
People tried to get a pipeline to safely ship oil through the Midwest but Obama said no he would rather use Warren Buffets trains to do the job.
Millions of dollars have been tossed into a dark hole in a disastrously wasteful attempt to bring about green energy.
We are still experiencing poverty and huge unemployment numbers in our minority communities.
We’re facing an enemy that is moving across the middle east like a wildfire with no plan to stop them. People are being killed in record numbers but we still have no plan.
Yeah….I think the know nothings are the people that voted this mess upon our once great nation.

Slowerfaster, check out the bio on Charlie Pierce, author of “Idiot America” from NPR (National Public Radio). Here’s an excerpt:

“He is a 1975 graduate of Marquette University, where he majored in journalism and brewery tours. He was delighted to combine his vocation and his avocation once again when he returned to Milwaukee to cover the trial of Jeffrey Dahmer.

He attended graduate school at Boston College for two days. He is a former forest ranger for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and still ponders the question of what possesses people to go into the woods and throw disposable diapers up into trees”.

We are on the brink of WW3. This is NOT the time to bicker over who’s not politically correct and who offended who. We need a strong commander in chief to take charge and the ONLY one who seems to have any kind of plan at all is Trump. I Dont care much for the man personally, but as a leader hes the best candidate in the race.

Trump is blunt, brash, opinionated, often obnoxious and says exactly what he feels. He also fights back when criticized.

Will he be president? Most likely not, but he sure is a breath of fresh air in comparison to the career politicians out there.

          Stranger things have happened:
We elected a guy twice who may have been a National Guard deserter, and who’s claim to fame was taking daddy’s oil money and buying a baseball team.

Then we elected a guy (also twice) who has never even run a lemondade stand.

Now we are about to elect a woman so corrupt that she makes mafia dons look like dimestore hoodlums.

Never say never. Stranger things have happened.

What the state senators should really do, is divest California from supporting ILLEGAL immigration, welfare as a way of life, amnesty, driver’s licenses for illegals, and all the other unfunded mandates for those who are not here legally.

Actually, this story is about action a number of state senators are taking to divest California from supporting Trump. See if you can follow along. They are the very same senators who support illegal immigration and all that is wrong with California.

    Racism and hate speech? When?
How about Sacramento do something more important like figuring out why we spend billions on high speed trains to nowhere, while dumping precious water into the ocean, when the citizens are having to do without to save a trickle of water.

I suspect that CA will stay the course as Trump has moved into first place. Thank goodness someone is finally willing to deal with some of the very real problems that this state has. Beginning with the fact that we have been invaded.
