Slide closed at Sinsheimer Park in SLO because of vandalism

December 11, 2019

By CCT STAFF

The San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department has closed a slide for three to four weeks because of vandalism, the second time since October that someone has damaged park property.

It appears someone burned portions of the slide.

In October, vandals cut out and stole a large portion of the synthetic turf from the playground. The city paid about $10,000 to replace the turf, which took about two weeks for the repairs to be completed.

Police have ramped up patrols in the area.

City staff is asking anyone who sees suspicious activity in any of the parks to call the SLO Police Department at 805-781-7312.

Plastic slides? Planned obsolescence, the park slides when I was a kid were steel and only a bulldozer could damage them

I remember burning my tush on those. I’m sure they could figure something out though.

It seems like the plastic waste problem is being ignored by the SLO city council and mayor. The amount of plastic generated by destroying/replacing plastic slides and grass outweighs that being saved by the banning of straws etc. They’re fiddling while Rome is burning. They’re hypocrites and faux environmentalists.

My dad has the ultimate set of tools. He is a television repairman. I can fix that and color match it this weekend for $50

Too SMART RS.
