Pardon our dust

Welcome to CalCoastNews’ redesigned site!

We’re working hard to bring our readers more stories, more services and more to talk about.

Those who wish to comment must have their first posts approved. All subsequent comments will then be posted automatically.

Because we moved to a new site, passwords have been reset. If you did not already receive an e-mail with your password, use the lost password link in the login box located on the lower right column to retrieve it.

The calendar will take a day or two longer to transfer to the new site.

If you notice something that is broken or troublesome, please leave us a note in this section. We’ll get right on it.

Thank you for your patience as we move CalCoastNews another step forward.

“If you notice something that is broken or troublesome, please leave us a note in this section. We’ll get right on it.”

We’ll get right on deleting your comment, that is. Whew. Nice to know nothing’s changed.

Nice job mangling all the old comments under previous articles. Booty_Juice’s jeremiads are lost forever. Oh well.

OK, so how do I change my password?

On the front page, right side scroll down.

There is a log in box with a lost password link.

Give it a shot.

S

Yes. Can we change our passwords?

Yes, right side scroll down.

There is a profile link in the log in area (when logged in).

Reset password is in the profile page.

Continue button on KSBY story links you back here (bug)

Testing the system, OK like the new layout.

I can’t access your site as calcoastnews.com. The only way to get in is to go to uncoveredslo.com and use the link. That goes to . Definately a bug you need to work out.

DNS Has to propagate, it will iron itself out soon.

That’s hilarious. Until the DNS change propagates one should probably see the old site. CalCoastNews.com has the new site with links that contain the IP address explicitly. I’d say there’s a danger that search engines will put the IP address in their index, but I see that there’s little chance of Google indexing your site. Of course people are going to bookmark IP-address URLs and get even more 404 errors than I’ve already seen today.

Here’s another howler: “Because we moved to a new site, passwords have been reset.” Because, uh, why, now? And I have to scroll down how far to log in, or to see the error message when my login fails?

And I’m sorry, but I demand to be able to critique food critic Dave Congalton. :) Some of that writing needs to be slapped.

“Some of that writing needs to be slapped. ”

Some of the comments too.

We realize now that you are perfect.

The rest of us are just normal humans.

Things happen.

I like the New Look.
