Fire sparks in bedroom of Oceano home

A fire broke out in the bedroom of an Oceano home Monday afternoon. [KSBY]
The fire occurred just after 2:30 p.m. at a house in the 2200 block of La Verne Street. Five Cities firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze before it could spread elsewhere in the house.
Residents of the house were home at the time, but they escaped safely. No injuries occurred as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
