Robbers succeed in string of Santa Maria heists

For the second time in less than a week, multiple closely timed robberies took place in Santa Maria with the suspects evading capture. [KSBY]
Santa Maria police say that two or three suspects walked around town Saturday night robbing liquor stores and pedestrians on the sidewalk. Police responded to five different locations over a four-hour period, beginning around 8:15 p.m.
Five days prior, two robbers held up a 7-11 and another convenience store in Santa Maria in a span of about 15 minutes. They escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Santa Maria police are investigating the crimes and are requesting that anyone with related information contact the department. The police department will release new and pertinent information as it arrives.
