Hundreds of people protest in Paso Robles against Newsom’s orders

Protest in Paso Robles

The day after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced plans to shutter all California beaches, which he later amended to only beaches in Orange County, about 500 people gathered in Paso Robles to protest the state’s ongoing shelter at home order.

Amanda Hawkins, an organizer of the “Stand for Freedom Rally” in Paso Robles, said her group was utilizing their constitutional right to peaceful assembly. Many of Friday’s protestors were members of the Republican Party.

Protestors argued it was time to allow businesses to reopen, and to let people work and socialize with family and friends. Speakers asked why are we quarantining the healthy, instead of those who are sick?

Throughout the state, thousands gathered at dozens of rallies, the largest in Sacramento and Huntington Beach.

While thousands protested in Huntington Beach, others flocked to the coast line, ignoring signs saying the beach was closed. Multiple law enforcement agencies in Orange County announced they were not going to arrest people who violated Newsom’s stay at home or beach closure orders.

Earlier this week, Newsom said he was just weeks away from stage two of his four phase plan. Following outrage by some and support from others, Newsom said stage two could begin in days, depending on how the public conforms to his current orders.

So there you have the organizations and funding behind the re-open rallies.

Interesting, but you forgot one major group! The freedom loving, business owning, self employed AMERICANS, who pay the taxes that fund the government employees pay checks.

Pay checks that many self employed people are not getting, and because of the rules of unemployment insurance, these same people are also not getting any financial help. So much for all of the hard earned tax dollars robbed from them by the government.

Try paying your mortgage or buying groceries with “sorry you are out of work due to the shutdown, but the rules are the rules!“

So Koch is/was a hard worker, and currently facilitates the production of yoga pants? Sounds like the type of guy who could defeat Cuban, Biden, or maybe even Biafra in an election….

Today is the 50th anniversary of the protest at Kent State. We still have the right to protest and people still die, at least in this case, not because we are shot by our own. I guess now we protest for our right to die??

Not a mask in the crowd, now THAT’S true religion.

How about the business owner’s liability, if a customer catches or has the virus, and then they, or their surviving family, blame it on the business’ COVID-19 practices?

Come one, come all, get your attorney on a contingency basis and video ready. There’s a healthy profitable business to steal … legal style.

I am seeing a growing number of outspoken people that have lost or never had the power of logical thought. These people, shame others, tattle on their neighbors, call them killers and morons for just wanting to get back to work and save what is left of their businesses, and the lives that they have worked hard to create for themselves.

I have listened and watched these self appointed community police, and have determined that they have formed their opinions by listening to bureaucrats, what is left of the news media and facebook. The common denominator of all three of these so called information sources is MONEY! Facebook is click bait, you click and they get paid! The news media is the same. You stayed glued to the TV and they get paid. Bureaucrats, well, we know you should never let a good crisis go to waste! Everything is an opinion. If we were following the facts, we would be getting back to work. There is evidence that this virus came through our state months before New York, yet everyone is huddled up waiting for California to get hit like New York!

There are many constants on earth that cant be denied. There will be life and there will be death. Nothing in nature works as fast as people have been told to believe. Everyday we see the new numbers of people who now have the virus. These numbers do not mean that these people suddenly caught the virus that day!

Everyone needs to realize that a computer model is nothing more than a computer program, written by a human being, that tries to forecast an event. Computer code is a reflection on the thought processes of the person that wrote the code. Two people, Independently writing computer code, to solve the same problem would come up with two completely unique ways of approaching the problem!

Based on the logic used to force everyone into hiding, automobiles would have been banned a long time ago. I do not believe in experts. Yes, there are people extremely knowledgeable in their fields, but that does not mean that any one person has all of the knowledge on any one subject. Bureaucrats were not sought after, interviewed, or vetted for a specific skill. They won a popularity contest.

Those of you who still think we should keep hiding until a vaccine is developed, I would suggest you go back and watch the Grapes of Wrath. That is a perfect example of what we can expect, as I don’t see the government coming up with any great plan to help those that are losing everything they have worked hard for and had no control over.

Well said…..

>”There is evidence that this virus came through our state months before New York”

Think critically: if the virus had come through a long time ago, why are we only seeing skilled nursing facilities/convalescent hospitals be hit now? The virus has very obvious symptoms and it favors victims in close proximity and who are elderly. This makes nursing facilities canaries in the coal mine for this virus. Unless these facilities were getting wiped out months ago, it’s safe to say the virus is still relatively new.

You say you are skeptical of experts, well that skepticism should extend to the antibody studies (which presumably constitutes your evidence). Criticism has already been made about them, chief among them drawing test subjects from a population showing a higher frequency of symptoms and drawing an erroneous conclusion that that the virus has already infected many more than ever expected.

>”Nothing in nature works as fast as people have been told to believe. Everyday we see the new numbers of people who now have the virus. These numbers do not mean that these people suddenly caught the virus that day!”

There is an incubation period of a week or two, but I suspect you meant something different from this since that’s what we’ve been “told”. And this is part of the reason why the quarantine measures are so heavy handed: many people either don’t understand the science or disbelieve it when it’s conveyed to them. How could society possibly rely on such people to take the necessary precautions when they don’t even believe the virus is a threat?

>Based on the logic used to force everyone into hiding, automobiles would have been banned a long time ago.

Apples and oranges. If someone drives recklessly, guilt is easily proven and punishment easily meted out. If someone recklessly spreads the virus, the same cannot be said to be true. This is also ignoring that we have licenses and *traffic laws* that restrict how one drives.
