13 hours a week now average for Net users
December 24, 2009
A new study shows that the average person is now spending around 13 hours a week on the Internet, including email. This week’s Harris Poll found that 80 percent of all Americans currently go online, either through work or the office. Twenty percent are online for less than two hours a week; 14 percent of Americans admit to spending more than 24 hours a week cruising the Internet.
By contrast, the number of online hours has almost doubled since 2000, when the reported amount was closer to seven hours. Back in 1996, for example, only 16 percent of all Americans had Internet access.
